A Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) is a document that is used by scientists and their institutions to transfer materials to other scientists and institutions. MTAs provided by outside organizations may contain clauses that are not consistent with the University of Utah policies and procedures and/or federal law. Signing one of these agreements could severely impede a scientist's ability to carry out his or her research or to publish in a timely fashion. It is important that all MTAs are evaluated and signed by an authorized TVC representative. Use the form below to upload the incoming agreement.
If you are planning to send materials or data to a collaborator, please complete the appropriate questionnaire at the bottom of this page. TVC will then prepare the appropriate MTA and send it to your collaborator. You will be copied on all correspondence, unless you notify us that you do not wish to be copied, and notified when the agreement has been completed. Please note that if you are planning to send materials or data to a company or other for-profit entity, TVC will need to prepare a tangible property agreement instead of an MTA for that transfer. Please contact TVC for more information.
Please note also that clinical trial protocol evaluation CDA's are now being processed and signed by OSP. Please contact Brent Brown.
